Daily Drip

Eating: Trader Joe’s Gnocchi Gorgonzola. It’s so good. Judge me.

Feeling: Sick. I have a cold and I’m being dramatic about it. I haven’t gotten sick in a year and a half, which I love crediting to my three sons (plants) filtering the air in my apartment. This time is actually worth the drama, though, as I’m supposed to see Kathleen in Connecticut this weekend and really cannot bring germs around her. For those who don’t know, my best friend has cancer, and it has been an impossibly hard year.

Thinking: That I want to pivot from my current manuscript to a whole ass brand new beast: a fiction novel. Before I became a Serious Reader, all I went for was self-help and non-fiction. While I still love a true story, fiction unlocked the gate to a colorful playground where I want to, like, build my own swing set to the moon or whatever.

Working: Within the next week or so, I’ll be writing a collab post with my beautifully candid friend Riliegh, who pens a blog called Revel + Motion. We’re currently polling our Instagram followers for questions on dating and sex to address in our piece. Understanding some of these topics are still taboo, I’m basking in the image of every missionary-with-the-lights-off face twisting while clicking through my story. This has been really entertaining and I look forward to coalescing all of your graphic, NSFW curiosities.

I love engaging with people on IG because it makes me feel like I’m doing something more meaningful than just posting and scrolling, though I despise how it keeps me glued to my phone. ‘Tis a trade-off.

Listening: “Sleeping With the Enemy” by BbyMutha. You can find that and some other tracks, new and old, that I’ve had in rotation since the first fall leaf hit the ground on my new playlist “pumpkin spice buss down” below.
